ECL-DC-Linux-LTE-MB-C1 builds a transparent communication platform between field devices via serial ports and remote servers over cellular networks. It acts as a transparent bridge between wired, wireless M-Bus, Ethernet and RS485 interfaces of water and electricity meters and similar 3rd party devices and Head-End Systems running on central servers over latest 4G/3G mobile network technologies such as LTE Cat.1. The data can be stored and processed thanks to its embedded Linux operating system and high capacity SBC before being transmitted to central servers over 4G networks. ECL-DC-Linux-LTE-MB-C1 can host 64, 128 or up to 256 devices over wired M-Bus and wireless M-Bus.
With the over the air (OTA) protocol, application software and firmware can be updated remotely. Updates, upgrades and troubleshooting can be done remotely without the need to go to the field. It has integrated hardware watchdog feature which protects the device against hardware and firmware crashes.
In addition to the standard transparent bridging functionality provided with the base product version, optional custom device firmware can be developed/provided upon customer request to fulfill more advanced device reading and application scenarios.
